We offer our range of products in the following finishes. All products are made of solid brass or solid brass and copper. As an alloy they will not rust or rot in any period of time. However polished finishes although lacquered will deteriate and patina in time. We feel this improves the look of our product, however we can make fittings look far older than they really are. Please specify your required finish when ordering.
Polished Brass order code suffix: PB
The item is polished and lacquered to retain the bright and glossy appearance. Requires the occasional clean with a damp cloth. Recommended for internal use only
Polished Un-lacquered Brass order code suffix: PBUL
The item is polished only and will gradually tarnish and mellow in colour. Requires the cleaning with brass polish to retain a bright finish. Recommended for Exterior use
Antique order code suffix: ANT
The item is degreased and soaked in a chemical that physically ages the metal. The finish is a greyish bronze and requires no cleaning or maintenance to keep its appearance. The fitting will look as if it has tarnished for years. Recommended for interior and exterior use
Light Antique order code suffix: LA
The item is degreased and soaked in a chemical that physically ages the metal. It is then polished back to partly reveal the metal beneath. This finish will mellow with age, only partial cleaning is required to keep its appearance. Recommended for interior and exterior use
Bronze order code suffix: BZ
The item is degreased and soaked in a chemical that bronzes the metal. It is then cleaned and lacquered to achieve a natural polished bronze finish. Requires the occasional clean with a damp cloth and is not recommended for exterior use
Nickel order code suffix: N
The Item is de-greased and soak cleaned, followed by an electric clean bath to remove any further impurities that may cause de-lamination.
The item is then dipped whilst electrically charged in a tank containing Nickel Sulphate. Nickel Chloride and Sulphuric Acid. The items will be plated with a minimum of 10 microns or Nickel (more than twice the minimum requirement for BSEN-12540). The item is then polished ready for use.
Note: Nickel items are supplied unlaquered which will dull over time. The items can be easily re-polished to an original state using metal polish. However if you require fittings Laquered (only recomended for interior use). Please specify Laquered when ordereing.
